Digital Revolution:

    Living in a time period that so heavily relies on digital media I never thought to look back where we began.  Something as small as bits and bytes leads to a realization of just how computers "read" data to them is read by a series of just 1's and 0's.



Compter's

I have taken advantage of the pure ease and simplicity of my laptop.  Growing up my grandparents always told me just how big the early computers were.  I always assumed they were just over exaggerating because I mean how big could a screen, pc, keyboard, and mouse be? Naively I assumed computers always looked like what I know now... just supper sized like a big mac.  I was shocked just to see how computers truly filled a room and were no what I expected to see visually.

Chapter 10

Image
 Variables that can effect pictures  There was an image in the book that surpised me.  Both pictures were of the same duck.  But one seemed more clear to me.  Before I read why I just assumed it was because of some editing.  I was shocked it had to do with the fact that shutter speed and focus were changed.  It looked clearer because the background was blurred out.  I was better able to focus on the Duck. Different lenses I cant believe how naive I was.  I assumed all cameras used the one lesnse.  I thought what made them different was the settings in which they used.  It all makes sense because as a kid I LOVED the movies that got up close with insects.  I would get so mad in my backyard when I couldnt video with the same quality.  Turns out I needed a Macro Lense.

Chapter 13

 Transitions  Transitions are not something I have ever been good at.  I really enjoyed reading about the correct how-to of transitions.  I find that I am almost too abrupt when doing transitions.  The readings gave me great ideas on how to better edit and allow my points to sneak up on viewers, not smack them in the face. Time Line  Adding clips to a timeline for me was hard to manage.  I tried to piece it all together in my head.   However, the book made a great point that it's like an automobile assembly. Like a set of instructions to assemble to video.  Clip by clip planned and thought out.

Chapter 7

 World Wide Web -To be honest, I never knew what the world wide web was.  At first glance, I would have guessed it was the same as the internet.  When in actuality the World Wide Bed is a small system within the internet.  It allows documents to be connected with other documents on the internet.  As well as guessing www stood for the worldwide web.  When in actually that stands for weaving the web. HTML If I am being honest I had no clue what HTML was.  My guesses included a connection on your computer or input on a tv.  HTML stands doe Hypertext Markup Language.  This is a way to go around coding.  It allows you to makeup around your test so the browser knows how to display your data.
